Want to do something useful with your lunch period?
Join the ViPS, do volunteer work in the library & around school!
What do ViPS do?
The ViPS (“Volunteers in Public Schools”) are students who volunteer —as needed— in the Media Center, Main Office, Nurses’ Office, Athletics Office or Guidance.
ViPS student volunteers report to the Media Center 1-2 times a week for 30 minutes during their lunch periods to work on a variety of tasks in locations throughout the building.
Volunteers may set their own schedule and request specific tasks or work locations. These requests will be accommodated as much as possible, although volunteers should be prepared to be flexible.
ViPS in the Media Center
ViPS are trained by the media specialist to perform a variety of tasks in the Media Center. These include: re-shelving books, processing new books, creating themed library displays, assisting students in using the online catalog and/or locating digital or print materials, as well as a variety of clerical and light "housekeeping" duties.
